A creative entrepreneur, Cynthia La Grou provides strategic vision for a range of media-production and nonprofit projects committed to positive world change. With a passion for content creation, Cynthia La Grou has served as the media producer and executive director of Compathos Foundation since 2009. Compathos aims to inspire compassionate and positive change through filmmaking, interactive media, screenings, and youth travel expeditions. Its creative community has worked for clients have included NBC Studios, the Discovery Channel, Warner Brothers, Paramount Pictures, Dreamworks, and the Smithsonian. Among her accomplishments in the position, she established the online streaming platform Films for the Planet, which showcases social action and environmental films on demand. Cynthia La Grou is also a current fellow of the Edmund Hillary Fellowship in New Zealand. As part of the fellowship, she engages with a community of changemakers, investors, and entrepreneurs to develop big-picture solutions to global challenges. Additionally, she works as a digital artist and poet as part of The Twelfth Muse, a visual poetry project. In this work, she utilizes sacred geometry, complex data graphics, lyrical myth, and fractals found in nature to inspire contemplation and imagination.
