Role Summary/Purpose:

  • Reporting to the VP, Pets Best Employee Benefits Sales Channel, the Employee Benefits Account Manager will be responsible for oversight and management of Employee Benefit client and broker accounts as well as maintaining ongoing relationships to drive increased sales and penetration.
  • The Account Manager is a remote position and the candidate can be located anywhere in the continental U.S.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Manage and facilitate the implementation and renewal of employee benefit clients
  • Manage day-to-day client support activities
  • Build strong working relationships with clients and brokers to identify, understand and address opportunities for improving sales and account retention.
  • Respond to RFPs and inbound inquiries from brokers and prospective clients
  • Prepare and deliver internal and external sales and performance reports and presentations
  • Work with clients to ensure a knowledge of the Pets Best program and successfully implement advertising/sales plans for Pets Best Insurance products.
  • Attend client open enrollment events and meetings, and industry events as needed
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding for all Pets Best product offerings, current rates, and compliance requirements to support the usage within the employee benefits market.
  • Act as the voice of the customer and collect feedback to drive continuous improvement across all areas including product
  • Maintain industry knowledge and understanding of the employee benefits market
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
  • Ability to de-escalate client issues and problem solve quickly

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 2+ years of voluntary employee benefits experience
  • 2+ years of account management experience
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of time with required overnight travel
  • Must possess a Property & Casualty Insurance license or obtain one within 105 days after hire date

Desired Characteristics:

  • Bachelor s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance or related field
  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook
  • Insurance, financial services and sales and/or marketing experience
  • Sales and Account management experience
  • Experience using a CRM tool such as Salesforce
  • Strong insurance business/industry acumen
  • Knowledge of customer financial drivers/needs
  • Openness to coaching and ability to learn quickly
  • Resourceful, creative and flexible
  • Customer focused mind set with ability to respond quickly to customer needs
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills (written, oral, non-verbal)

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older
  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • You must be willing to take a drug test and submit to a background investigation as part of the onboarding process
  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 1033(E) Of the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act Of 1994
  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months time in position before they can post. All internal employees must have at least a consistently meets expectations performance rating and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don t meet the time in position or performance requirement).

The salary range for this position is 52,000.00 – 110,000.00 USD Annual

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA and Metro NY and some positions are bonus eligible.
