As a proud distributed and remote-first company since inception, we currently have teams across 4 countries around the world.

We are seeking a Lead Product Designer, reporting to the Head of Design, to own, articulate, and implement the core of Sortly’s experience, enabling customers to track the key materials and stock that enables them to run their business.

Do you get excited about exploring the unknown? Are you eager to leave your mark by implementing new designs or solutions never seen before? Yes… then this role could be your next exciting chapter.

What you will do

In this role, you’ll be empowered to define the next generation of our product, both with green-field explorations of new spaces and the iteration on those experiences to ensure they are effective and valuable. And you won’t be alone! The Lead Product Designer will collaborate closely with a diverse team of Sortly’s leadership team as well as designers, researchers, engineers, and data scientists who care deeply about creating impactful experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Own experience design for Sortly’s core product experiences, aiding customers in effectively extracting value for their business.
  • Leverage Design Thinking or similar human-centered methods to ideate hypotheses, strategies, and tactics that help customers find success.
  • Execute all aspects of the user experience on projects including ideation, prototyping, user testing, and implementation.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of product strategy and work collaboratively with product managers to ensure proposed design concepts align against long-term goals.
  • Lead with an entrepreneurial mindset; you love building new things with a “challenge accepted” mindset that sees opportunity where others find only barriers.

You have

  • 7+ years of experience as a designer working with design-forward companies.
  • 0 to 1 design experience.
  • Passion for design and understanding customer needs and interpreting their intent into usable products.
  • A strong bias for action; you identify a problem, envision a solution, and take a hands-on approach towards execution.
  • Proficiency in customer research tools and methods to identify opportunities for generative and evaluative insight.
  • End-to-end experience with all aspects of the design process from conception through delivery.
  • Skills in communicating and influencing product design strategy across teams.
  • Demonstrable core design skills in using typography, layout, motion, and color to create compelling experiences.
  • A portfolio that shows designs across multiple platforms: desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
  • Skills in communicating and influencing product design strategy across teams.

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Yearly learning & development reimbursement
  • Remote-first team
  • Semi-annual off-site retreats
