Our focus in web development enables us to develop deep expertise in Drupal, Magento, and Shopify and to provide top-notch custom solutions for clients. We’re looking for an experienced QA Engineer to join our team. Bear Group team members need to be self-motivated and able to work independently most of the time, but we have a friendly and capable team to collaborate with along the way. We value and support ongoing education and professional development to keep up with ever-evolving technologies and practices.

The QA Engineer is responsible for the overall quality of the solutions that are developed and deployed by Bear Group. This role interacts with the technical project management, solution architect, developer, and client teams. Work will include:

  • Lead daily triage of incoming issue queues from merchants and launch teams.
  • QA’ing all primary work, with good repro steps provided to technical project manager / client.
  • End-to-end testing for Magento core upgrades.
  • Providing clear and concise written communication via Jira ticketing.

Technical Qualifications

  • 3+ years in web development and strong PHP experience; experience with the Zend framework. 
  • QA methodology and tools, with demonstrated QA experience in a SDET or QAE role.
  • Experience with selenium automated test framework or MFTF testing experience.
  • Strong understanding in testing APIs (SOAP and REST services).

General Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, plus a minimum of 3 years in web development and strong PHP experience.
  • Preference for client service environments, such as web development firms, technical support teams, interactive agencies, or graphic design firms.
  • Independence, enthusiasm, superb written communication, and organization skills.
  • Understanding of Object Oriented Programming (OOP) and Model-View-Controller (MVC) frameworks.
  • Experience developing in local environments and working with code repositories such as Git.
  • Basic LAMP server administration experience, MySQL knowledge, and Git administration.
  • Understanding of Object Oriented Programming (OOP) and Model-View-Controller (MVC) frameworks.
