Over the last seven years my passion for media has fueled my journey from journalism into the tech world. Thanks to a variety of small team settings, I've had a direct hand in creating websites, videos, podcasts, graphics and more. When I'm not working, I'm usually rummaging through the racks at a thrift shop or reading articles about the future of retail.

    Finding the most effective growth levers at a startup is tough! That's why I had the opportunity to experiment with so many different marketing strategies and tactics. In more than two years at Pure Chat I:

    • Increased our Domain Authority 18 points with a small business-oriented content marketing strategy.
    • Implemented our first email marketing campaigns to engage and upsell leads from scratch.
    • Coordinated conference sponsorships and a week's worth of out-of-state launch events in San Francisco to drive brand awareness.
    • Devised co-marketing partnerships with complimentary brands.
    • Drove thousands of conversions with paid digital media campaigns on Google AdWords.
    • Increased our paid account conversion rate from 1.7% to 4.5%.

    Here I had the first opportunity to dip my toes in the marketing world and get hands-on experience in a small team setting. In six months I was promoted to team lead and had the opportunity to:

    • Devise and implement email marketing and retention campaigns.
    • Craft eye-catching messages to connect with our target audience through print and online ads.

  • Seeing It Through

    Videographer|Oct, 2010

    Multimedia report on blind hikers trekking the Grand Canyon. Worked in a team of four reporters to produce a piece that incorporated print, photo and video based storytelling. Footage from the video we created was used during a Today Show segment where the hikers were interviewed on national television!
