With more than two decades of experience as a medical examiner, Dr. Kris Sperry furnishes consulting services related to forensic medicine and pathology from his base in Peachtree City, Georgia. In 2015, Dr. Kris Sperry retired from his position as the chief medical examiner for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Division of Forensic Sciences, which he had held since 1997.
Prior to his role with the State of Georgia, Dr. Sperry worked at the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office in Atlanta, Georgia, from 1989 to 1997. There, he started as an associate medical examiner and moved up the ranks to deputy chief medical examiner. Earlier in his time in the field, he served at the New Mexico Office of the Medical Investigator from 1986 to 1989.
To share his insights on the profession, he also taught pathology classes at multiple universities throughout his career. These include the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University, the Emory University School of Medicine, and the University of New Mexico School of Medicine.
