Work Experience

Technology Service Corporation

Senior Systems Engineer/Analyst
|

Sep 2013 - Current
  • Designed SPY-1 radar field experiments and oversaw test execution to ensure systematic collection of operational data to support algorithm analysis while minimizing collinearity and confounding among input parameters.

  • Completed contingency table analysis of operational data from two events within MATLAB and Python to discover patterns and to assess discrimination algorithm performance accuracy across different dimensional slices.
  • Used machine learning and statistical modeling techniques to build decision trees, hierarchical clusters, and logistic regression models from operational data within Python and JMP to characterize discrimination algorithm performance robustness and sensitivities.
  • Defined and aligned team tasking from CONOPS development through prototyping to recommend integration schemes utilizing algorithm decisions within current architecture to improve performance against electronic attack.
  • Created and presented technical analysis and planning products to convey results, update work status, and to provide recommendations to Navy sponsors and technical community.

Raytheon - Integrated Defense Systems

Systems Engineer I/II
|

Jun 2007 - Aug 2013
  • Analyzed TPY-2 radar tactical data from five sites in MATLAB to establish calibration thresholds for four key technical performance measures, improving auto-calibration as well as radar health and status accuracy reporting.
  • Modified discrimination test-bed code to remove MATLAB Statistics Toolbox dependencies, allowing for more Monte Carlo simulation runs to be completed in parallel without license limitations.
  • Enhanced war games analysis and reporting tool suite by automating the post-mission analysis of MySQL databases into standardized event briefing reports and increasing fidelity of STK dynamic event visualizations.
  • Consolidated analysis tool suites from disparate program groups into single integrated tool suite maintained within SVN, shared across all groups, eliminating duplicate tools and leveraging tool development efforts across groups.
  • Derived and developed system design requirements from prime item development specifications within DOORS for more than 25 hardware and software products.
  • Organized and headed working groups for four radar exportability program capabilities to coordinate the design, development, integration, test, and verification work across software and systems engineering groups.
  • Created data analysis products to communicate radar system performance as well as design and architecture decisions to lead engineering leads, MDA sponsors, and technical community.
