As a freelance fashion and lifestyle journalist I have written for a number of publications including Elle, i-D, Drapers, On The Rocks and Boat magazine.
My copywriting clients include, among others, Stella McCartney and Selfridges.
Over the course of nearly five years I rose from editorial assistant to fashion features editor. I was responsible for the fashion features section of 6-10 pages, commissioning a talented network of writers and leading an editorial team of two. I edited this section and worked closely with the art team and stylists to visualise each article. In this role I interviewed some of the leading designers in the luxury industry and profiled many up-and-coming young talents.
Becauselondon.com is a fashion and beauty website updated daily. I was responsible for managing the production and posting schedules of the site, commissioning and editing all fashion content and uploading. I led a small team of video editors, an art director and writer. When first launched, the site focused on fashion films of which I would produce three per week. I also maintained the site's social media channels.
Alongside the digital platform the company launched Because magazine, a print publication distributed with the Sunday Times twice a year to promote the website. This magazine worked in conjunction with an app, Fashion Scan which allowed readers to scan the printed pages with their phones and watch complimentary video content per article. I was part of the team that launched this app and magazine. I commissioned, edited and wrote content for the magazine as well as producing films for the app.
I was responsible for updating the site content. During this time I was also training to read the news on-air.
