I researched the effects of rendering style on user perception of the value of an idea. This research contributed to ongoing research in design thinking.
Design and analysis of circuits for NAND flash memory; EDA work in Cadence software; simulations using HSPICE. I independently designed and directed simulation tests to solve performance issues of a clock generator circuit at low power. In this process, I generated dozens of SPICE files to test and verify current consumption, stability, and performance of several NAND flash memory products. From my findings, implemented design changes on an existing oscillator circuit to stabilize operation at low voltages and produced layout-to-circuit back annotation for the same product.
Mixed Signal Group I programmed and interfaced a GUI which enabled automatic rapid digital testing and performance verification (via I2C communication) of a voltage sequencing IC.
Computational Cancer Genomics I wrote a script in Python to automatically process complete genome RNA-seq data extracted from hundreds of breast cancer patients (for each patient: one copy of the genome from cancer cells, and one copy of the genome from healthy cells) to check for fusion junctions hypothesized to be a factor in the proliferation of breast cancer.
I designed and developed an hand gesture imitation Android game application (Java in Eclipse) for children with ADHD. I also designed and implemented an image processing algorithm, which is incorporated into the game.
Affective Computing Group I collected data relating to interview behavior by conducting, video recording, and observing experiments in which students were interviewed by a professional career counselor in a mock setting. I also worked in Processing on a front-facing data visualization interface that displays the performance of a user who participates in a mock interview with a virtual avatar who acts as the interviewer.
