Although not the largest store, we have an affluent demographic which transfers into a high basket spend and UPT for us. In store I am accountable for all morning operations, availibility and processes, sales forecasting and talent development.
I have also taken a lead role within the region on process implementation and improvement, working closely with our RCOM and his team.
My proudest achievement in this role to date is having our entire region adopt a service initiative I created. To date our regional service ratings have improved by over 5% and look to continue to rise.
Following my success in London Colney, I took over a deflated and tired team in High Wycombe. Through buiding a solid relationship with them, we turned the fortunes of both departments round and delivered a successful Christmas, with the foundations to push on through the remaining financial year.
A step into the clothing side of the business, my team and I successfully delivered the target for Q3 and also met our customer service bonus target.

Similar to the previous Fresh role, I was in charge of availability and gap scan processes, waste management and various other stock and order processes on the ambient areas of the store - Edible and non-edible Grocery, Health and Beauty and Frozen. My responsibilities were to ensure proper maintenance of the stock and order processes, manage the colleagues on the shop floor and coach them to produce the expected standard to deliver a great shopping experience for the customer. During my time in this role, through the ambient supply manager leaving the business, I was given the opportunity to 'hold the fort' as part of my management training. This meant working alongside the Trading manager to deliver the results for the department, and have almost full accountability for the department and its performance.
Here I headed up a specialised team of 6-8 colleagues who were entrusted with date code checking, availability and gap scan processes, waste management and various other stock and order processes on the fresh areas of the store - Produce, Chilled, Meat, Counters and Bakery. My main duties were to successfully manage my team to keep food wastage at a minimum and control our fresh waste budget by working alongside the department managers. At this time I was also placed on the management training programme, which required me to attend modular sessions fortnightly and to push my own development within the company.
Personally requested by regional manager to travel to store in and around our region to head up the training of takeover stores, primarily Co-op and later some Nettos. I would cover everything from basic stock processes & Telxon (handheld scanner) use to our legal training policies and procedures. This role took me to approx 15 stores within the 6 months I spent on it. My headcount for training sessions ranged from 1 to 5 at any time. I also conducted in depth training with the transferred managers in these stores.
