After the acquisition of OptionsHouse, I worked to facilitate the merger of two distinct technology platforms. I now work with a team of both onshore and offshore developers building the next-generation mobile application. I establish, review, and enforce best practices for my team of developers stationed around the world.
I started by helping a City Moms Blog Network franchisee in Jacksonville. I quickly had to redesign the performance and scalability of the network to handle rapidly growing web traffic. Additional security measures and future practices were implemented after a major breach which attracted the attention of the network. I remain heavily involved as the Director of Technology responsible for the smooth operating experience, tight security, and growth of infrastructure to accommodate the expanding network.
OptionsHouse had a significantly larger customer base than tradeMonster, but the tradeMonster technology we developed offered a better experience from both a user and administrator standpoint. After the acquisition, our team spent the next 6 months scaling the capability of the platform to accommodate the customer base and the continued expansion. The next year and a half focused on moving from an HTML5 based platform to native iOS and Android mobile applications. In July of 2016 OptionsHouse was acquired by eTrade. As a key player in the OptionsTrade organization, I went on to be an integral part of the eTrade transition.
In 2008 I was recruited to join the tradeMONSTER team in Chicago after some of my work with Adobe Flash and Flex was noticed by the executive team. I joined the team while the product was in pre-launch development. In the months leading to launch I played a critical role in the front-end development of brand new type of trading application. I continued on to contribute my expertise to the September 2014 acquisition by OptionsHouse where I remained an integral contributor to the organization.
As the lead of a development team at BNL Consulting, I worked directly with clients to gather requirements, set expectations, and coordinate team efforts to deliver a quality product. I was responsible for setting functional and technical requirements as well drafting test and user help documentation. I expanded upon my Adobe Flex expertise while building rich data visualization and charting internet applications.
The curriculum focuses on developing a general management perspective, and in–depth knowledge of the various skills required to manage effectively in a rapidly changing and increasingly technical and global environment. A variety of approaches to learning are used, including lectures, case analysis, and group work and team building exercises.
