This was a part-time remote position analyzing Google ads, examining YouTube content for "sensitive" videos, and other linguistic/semantic projects all while under an NDA. ZeroChaos lost the contract with Google, otherwise, I would still be working at this fascinating and important job.
In this home-based position, I sell used media items (books, videos, DVD's and CD's) on the internet to a worldwide customer base. I use Amazon's data entry system to compile information. Packages are mailed and emails are sent as confirmation. I purchase media items from various sources such as libraries, dollar stores and used bookstores. This is a very part-time job; it really is more of a hobby.
I was a part-time employee with this tutoring company, working with Fairfield, Vacaville, and Vallejo Unified School District's "No Child Left Behind" students, tutoring them in Language Arts, Reading and Math. Most of them are English language learners. Occasionally, I will work with children in Child Protective Services. Many of them have learning disabilities (mainly ADD). Through this company, I have been utilized as a test proctor, using my lap-top computer to assess learned skills through an online testing web-site.
I worked in homes, in which the clients were on welfare or disabled, making their lives easier by doing housework, errands, etc. I was allotted certain hours, (per client, per month), from Solano County. This allowed me to work a varied, sometimes on-call, schedule. Occasionally, I contacted my clients' social workers to determine solutions in problem areas.
At this well known and successful internet company, I assisted customers over the telephone using Sabre, Apollo and Kana computer systems. Production in both phone volume and e-mails answered was imperative.
In this start-up call center, I was trained in appropriate protocol for determining the necessity for appointments by using a Windows-based NT software. High levels of stress, while dealing with doctors, nurses and patients (mainly on the telephone), were experienced. Medical terminology was used to notate patients' needs and send emails to staff.
At this hotel icon on Nob Hill in San Francisco I sold the benefits of staying there... despite the rates and smallish rooms. At one time I worked through a strike that nearly devastated the business.
At this very popular hotel in the Union Square Area of San Francisco, I booked hotel rooms in the CLS computer system, entered accounts receivables into ledger and checked tour groups into the front desk computer on the weekends.
At this extremely busy modern hotel with over 800 rooms, I worked in the reservations office with 5-6 other employees booking via telephone, fax and telex machine on both day and night shifts. Specialized in corporate, transient and group bookings.
