Founder & Chief Commercial Officer of W+G Motorsports, a Sports and Entertainment business based in Bucharest and London.

Portfolio included: SABMiller, Ministry of Tourism, Asirom and Nokia.

  • Developed and managed, from concept, Romania’s first World Superbike Team in the 2011 Championship, successfully leading to Romania’s first point scoring team in a World Championship on 2-wheels. Grew the initiative from concept to execution across all channels, overcoming the challenges of gaining local financial support with local sponsors. Also developed the activation strategies leading to, for example, the launch of a new SABMiller non-alcoholic beer in Romania
  • Developed and managed from concept to financing (€450m) to master planning the International Circuit of Romania, an F1, MotoGP and mixed-used circuit in central Romania. Commercial activities included the development of retail, residential and commercial partnerships to ensure a profitable balance sheet
  • Developed and managed the potential takeover of a prominent Romanian Football Club, including the securing of €4.2m multi-year sponsorship deals, the construction of a new UEFA-co-financed stadium and the creation of start-

Reporting to the CMO and responsible for a team of 6, I was appointed to deliver a steep change to Leadership and Change interventions across all business units internally to introduce and leverage the resources and capabilities across the company to position Vodafone Romania’s online and mobile divisions within the company.

  • Key leadership role in transforming the business unit in to a sustainable and profitable making operation during a tough economic period and fundamental internal change within Vodafone
  • Led the re-brand and re-launch of Vodafone.ro and MyVodafone (Web and Mobile Architecture) with Global alignment
  • Led a Board review, working closely with the CMO & CEO, to improve focus, alignment and team-working to ensure the delivery of annual plans and improved leadership performance to deliver forward transformation programme
  • Led a functional review to redefine purpose, roles, interfaces and efficiency improvements leading to a £8m saving
  • Led the substantial growth and exceeding of the following KPI’s by more than 200%: increased usage of Direct Debit, eBilling, and MyVodafone; increased user experience and revenue of eShop and Vodafone.ro (traffic rose from 500,000 to 1,200,000 unique visitors for example)
  • Driving major cost reduction through the activities handled by online. This included, ePayments, eShopping, along with Customer Support, working directly with the CMO & CEO
  • Additional revenue of €2,000,000 a year drove by Microsim introduction on the market. I identified an early need to be the first to launch the Microsim and adapted our capabilities to match the needs of existing and new customers. As initiator of this process, I developed and executed the go to market strategy, with an implementation budget of just €20,000
