Developing a brand new client application was one of many hallmarks of working at Bench. I've also had the unique opportunity to work closely with our bookkeepers to develop an application that is a joy for them to come to work everyday and use.

Coming into the project we were faced with the task of taking a legacy code base built by several contractors and making it one cohesive, maintainable, and tested app.

Working in a team of 3, we rebuilt the PHP/Backbone/jQuery app using React, all the while having the opportunity to drive feature and product decisions.

Getting to work closely with the designers and product owners made this a fantastic experience!

• Re-architected the front-end web application, focusing on building a product that was maintainable and testable.
• Built build processes from the ground up using Gulp, Browserfy, and Babel
• Implemented coding standards for writing JS and SASS
• Communicated technical decisions to stake holders in a way that provided a clear and concise idea of the value they would provide

A development house with a focus on native mobile

development, I was tasked with creating comparable

responsive web applications. In addition to our client work,

we were given the opportunity to innovate and create new

products on a regular basis.

• Developed a product idea that received a good deal of media attention, gaining public esteem of the company.
• Won two of three pitch days held internally, eventually leading a team of 6 to build a product that would be chosen as finalist for an accelerator program in the Netherlands.
• Developed two web applications off-hours that would go on to be used internally, improving communication and efficiency throughout the company.
