Detonate Ventures is an investment and management company acting as a seed and early-stage investor and managing in-house projects. Being funded by private Israeli investors, since 2011 we operate in Kiev, Ukraine. The company is managed by partners with a broad expertise in technologies, media, telecommunications, marketing and strategic consulting. Usually we take an active part in our projects and a partner approach to all of them. Our vision is to live every business we are in. I joined the team at the beginning of their investment discovery. I was responsible for deal flow, internal estimation of our own ideas, and for research. I was acting as the COO for our projects, including product development and recruiting all team members. • Managed start-up relations, monitored and screened the trends and new start-up ideas • Prepared the summary for CEO for taking decisions about necessary investments ($ 20,000 – $100 000 /per project for 20-35% of equity) • Communicated with top market players from venture funds • Took active part in project assessments; developing a strong network of Ukrainian, Russian and European venture funds, focused on seed stage investments in CIS/ CEE markets Results: • Acted as a COO for Lotobar.com.ua – internal project for selling instant lotto. The product was launched in 6 months. • During 1 year we manage to estimate more than 300 projects, listen to 100 pitches from 5 markets and from more than 10 different industries (not limited with hardware, e-commerce, agriculture, biotechnologies).
