My primary responsibility was assessing and interpreting live geologic data as acquired through drilling operations on site. With that data I created geologic maps, cross sections, and was able to warn the client of any drilling hazards. Much of this position required me to be in constant communication with the client, always having a hand in planning, execution, and completion of projects.
My responsibilities were ensuring proper acquisition and continuity of mudlogging data and monitoring the drilling process, well hydraulics, and primary well control. Another important role I played was recognizing indications of changing pore pressure through lithological analysis and evaluation of hydrocarbon shows.
Over the course of my service I was responsible for tasks as small as training junior sailors to maintaining and repairing advanced guidance systems in fighter aircraft. My daily responsibilities generally included the calibration, repair, and testing of flight systems pre flight and post flight. Towards the end of my career I had the opportunity to take on a role in Quality Assurance where I was part of a team responsible for final checks on work performed on aircraft before they were cleared for use.
I assisted in the exploration and development of new and abandoned oil reservoirs in the Eastern Kentucky region. During this time I was responsible for independent prospect generation and aiding in onshore asset development as well as databasing activity of other operators in proximity to company assets.
