I received my first detention in 3rd grade when I was penciling in some sweet trend to a '43 Willy's Military Super Mudswamper Attack Jeep, with rockets. I had just finished the radio-controlled rocket guidance system before I thought about the traction problem. I still remember the devastation and wrath from Mrs. Williams as she ripped up my masterpiece and tossed it in the trash. Apparently, she didn't appreciate that sort of activity during the morning assembly. Many years later, I vividly remember the excitement of concepting those jeeps and putting them to paper. Before all the workflows, research, wireframes, designs and pretty pictures, I bring passion. I love creating and making things better.

It's time to take another look at the medical software in use today. In the race to provide a solution that worked in a computer-supported environment, software programs were delivered that were riddled with problems and over-saturated with unnecessary features.

Add to this industry regulations, the insurance company demands, and an iron-knuckled grip on 'doing it the way it's always been done' and you've got unnecessarily complex products that require far too much in terms of hospital funds, IT investment, and even day-to-day administration. What was intended to be an advancement resulted in .. digital paperwork. And no one likes paperwork.

We are building something better. A product that helps improve patient care, with greater accuracy and efficiency. One that's simple to learn and easy to use.

Our team is developing the world's smartest, most powerful, most user-friendly medical software you've ever seen.

Healthcare software is a mess. It always looks like an ancient Hewlett Packard had an aneurism then fell into pieces on the screen.

At Patient Logic, we are trying to fix this problem. My task has been to bring better thinking with a brand new workflow for physicians and healthcare users alike. Re-designing the experience from the start with the perspective of a physician is changing the way healthcare software is done.

Daily, I review requirements from subject matter experts, work with and mentor fellow UX designers, and craft workflows and screens to flesh out the Patient Logic suite of services.

While at iostudio, I grew it from a small regional advertising firm to a nationally recognized firm with national clients. Contributed as the main player in securing national clients such as The Army National Guard. Won over 20mm in contracts to wholly own the digital presence of The Army National Guard. Including the marketing website, all social media platforms, mobile applications, and enlistment web applications.

The online enlistment application went from concept with 10% of Guard enlistments to 90% Guard enlistments over 14 months, and to concept with 2 additional military branches.

Won the first military brand race to 1mm likes on Facebook. Beating the Marines, by only 14 days.

  • Generate a mobile presence for clients and structure a team to produce mobile apps for iOS and Android.
  • Research and experiment with new web technologies and other various items of interest for possible future use such as HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, browsers, and other general technologies useful for web marketing.
  • Lead web team in creating/maintaining landing pages and emails, troubleshooting issues as needed, advise on design choices based on company criteria and research methods of maintaining browser compatibility with new advanced design methods.
  • Audit landing pages to confirm they meet current standards in design, HTML validation, CSS, Javascript, and functionality.
  • Implement and maintain analytics such as Omniture SiteCatalyst and Google Analytics.
  • Create, maintain, and update a landing page template for web designers to base new landing page designs on to increase turnaround times.
  • Define and direct photoshoots for clients in studios and on location.
  • Create and maintain banners for outside media advertising.
  • Interview, train, and advise web designers as needed.
  • Research and/or implement new web technologies to streamline workflows and to address current issues.

A Lord of Brand and Typography, I could not explain the amount of great work that comes from this little shop. I was fortunate to have spent some time under the principle to learn and understand how to read clients and deliver work to please. Working as the entire interactive department for this little shop it laid a foundation from where I have grown.

  • The foundations of branding, and design were laid while working on client projects including, websites, landing pages, banners, commercials, and identities.
  • Developed ability to hand code HTML, CSS, and a little jQuery.
  • Learned the foundation of interactive design and usability.
