Should I put a photo on my resume?

The expectations for photos on resumes varies by country and industry. Most North American companies prefer resumes without photos because they believe that photos can add biases to the hiring process. However, many European countries and certain industries like acting and modeling, prefer resumes with photos.

We suggest that you research what is common in your country and industry, and follow best practices. If you still want something in place of the photo for decorative purposes, feel free to use an icon, logo, or even just a solid color. All of our templates support removing the photo.

Can I make my web resume private?

Your web resume is private by default. This means that it will not be accessible to anyone and will not be shown in Google search results.

Setting your web resume to secret will make it visible to people with the link and it will not be shown in Google search results.

Setting your web resume to public will make it visible to people with the link and it may be shown in Google search results.

Can I cancel my Pro subscription at any time?

Yes, you can cancel at any time by going to your account page. If you cancel your Pro plan, you will lose access to all Pro features one month after the date of your last payment.

What happens when I cancel my Pro subscription?

You will still have full access to your resumes and no data will be lost.

Will my credit card information be stored by Standard Resume?

No, we do not store or have access to your credit card information. Standard Resume uses Stripe for payments so all payments are securely processed by them.

Can I delete my account?

Yes, you can delete your account by going to your account page. Deleting your account will erase all of your data from our servers. This cannot be undone.

Can you remove my resume from Google search results?

Setting you web resume visibility to private or secret will tell Google not to show it in search results. The next time Google indexes our website, your web resume will be removed from the search results.

Google usually updates every week. You can contact them directly if you need it removed sooner.

How does the Standard Resume Friends referral program work?

You share your unique link (find it here) with friends and family, and when they use your link to create an account and purchase a Pro subscription, they will receive a $10 discount at checkout. When their purchase is complete, we will email you to let you know a $10 credit was added to your account. The credit will automatically apply to your next bill and doesn't expire (you can use it the next time you need a resume if you already got a job).

How many referral credits can I earn?

There is no limit on the amount of referral credits you can earn. Refer lots of friends and you can use Standard Resume Pro for free, for a long time. The credits can only be applied to Pro subscriptions and cannot be redeemed for cash, or any other form of compensation.
