The Analyst, Marketing Technology is expected to draw heavily on their independent expertise, campaign trafficking and web development knowledge, and understanding of information systems fundamentals to successfully complete their tasks in a timely manner. They are responsible for the execution of various procedures in accordance with the department service catalog, while working closely with the Marketing Data & Analytics team, channel managers, trade desk, and third party vendors in increasing levels of independence.
They are responsible for creating, trafficking, implementing, testing, and troubleshooting digital campaigns and tracking initiatives based on the requirements provided by clients, internal teams, vendors, and developers. Since this individual will be working with both external clients and vendors, along with internal teams, excellent communication and documentation skills are a must.
They must be accustomed to working in a dynamic, time-compressed, high-tech environment and completing a variety of tasks in parallel while utilizing good judgment, discretion, and professionalism in order to deliver consistent results and problem-solving. They are expected to provide clear and regular updates on their active workload, job progress, and any roadblocks that may impede their success. This position will work with the Director, Marketing Technology as a means of ensuring alignment of technologies across the Kaplan North America (KNA) ad tech stack.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with channel management, trade desk, and analytics teams on all accounts in order to successfully build, traffic and report on all digital campaign initiatives.
- QA creative specs before trafficking in the ad-server (e.g. HTML5 banners, MP4 files, dynamic creative, etc.).
- Troubleshoot any ad-served or site-served tag related issues that may arise pre or post campaign launch.
- Work closely with channel management, trade desk, and analytics teams on all accounts to implement tracking on site as it relates to digital campaign initiatives.
- QA / troubleshoot any site tag implementation issues that may arise using appropriate testing tools (e.g. DevTools).
- Collaborate with above teams to improve trafficking and tagging workflows as well as educate teams on the latest standards in both arenas.
- Resolve to track and report discrepancies with stakeholders that may be affected.
- Maintain, demonstrate, and share best practices across multiple departments.
- Take an initiative on learning and understand new ad tech tools and procedures that can improve campaign performance for clients, and share those learnings with the above mentioned teams.
- Convey thought leadership on all requests and processes pertaining to these key responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field required; background in business, marketing, statistics, economics preferred.
Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience working in a digital ad operations and analytics role required.
- Extensive trafficking experience within CM360 and Studio required.
- Experience with and understanding of digital creative types (e.g. display, native, audio, video, rich media, dynamic, etc.) required.
- Experience working with Tag Management Solutions (specifically GTM) required.
Technical Skills and Knowledge:
- Proficient with testing tools including but not limited to DevTools, VAST tag inspectors, HTML5 validators, FBM Test Events, Tag Assistant required.
- Proficient in campaign reporting from CM360 (and BigQuery, when needed).
- Knowledge of visual reporting tools such as Datastudio preferred.
- Knowledge of HTML and JavaScript preferred.
- Proficient skills with statistical programs such as SQL, Python, R preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets preferred.
- Knowledge of data transfers preferred.
- Google Marketing Platform certifications preferred.
