DESCRIPTION

NATECH is recruiting for a Graphic Artist to support the FAA National Airspace System Integration Support Contract (NISC IV) program. This is an exciting opportunity for talented individuals to contribute to the transformation of the Nation’s aviation system in which air traffic will move safely, swiftly, efficiently, and seamlessly around the globe.

This position will support the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Office of Safety and Technical Training (AJI) and other organizations within the FAA. Specifically, this position requires a graphic artist who can conceive, design, lay out, and will coordinate editorial illustrations and creative artwork. The intended graphic presentation must communicate mood, emphasis, insight, viewpoint, and similar visual impressions. The successful candidate will provide guidance on graphic technology. He/she will work closely with internal company contacts to understand requirements and create cost effective graphic designs through available media. He/she may be asked to provide computer graphic services for web artwork. The successful candidate, at times, may need to function as an Instructional Systems Designer (ISD)/Technical Writer or courseware programmer. He/she must be willing to learn or function in either capacity as dictated by the customer or work level.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conceives, designs, lays out, and coordinates editorial illustrations and creative artwork.
  • Develops interpretive themes that convey ideas and information.
  • Creates graphic presentations that communicate mood, emphasis, insight, viewpoint, and similar visual impressions.
  • Provides guidance on graphic technology.
  • Works closely with internal company contacts to understand requirements and create cost efficient graphic designs through available mediums.
  • May provide computer graphic services for web artwork.
  • May also have responsibility or input on reproduction and printing processes through in-house resources or outside vendors.

Required Qualifications:

  • Requires a BA degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 3 years of prior relevant experience
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; significant knowledge of other Creative Cloud applications.
