    Product Designer

    Squadformers
    North America Only

Hi, and welcome to the post about our Product Designer role (fully remote) at [Squadformers](https://squadformers.com).

    ### About us

Squadformers was created because we believe that great work can be done better together. Our team is composed of a bunch of creators, designers, and builders by heart and our mission is to make things on Earth better than they were before. We’re a bunch of freelancers & software makers, designers and engineers, who come together to work as a Squad. Why? Because working by yourself from home is lonely and doesn’t let us grow as quickly as if we do it together. But also because of the missions, the friends we make along the way, and the flexibility of working how and when we want to. To truly have this lifestyle, you need a Squad.

At the core of Squadformers is the team, or as we like to call it, the Squad. We are friends and colleagues that lift you up when things get tough, challenge you to be a better version of yourself, and respect one another, all while working together on an important mission for the world. Yes. We like to be decent Humans…

We have two types of missions: client missions, and greater good missions. We use the money from the client missions to fund the greater good missions, because those we do for free. Important missions that urgently need our help, like climate change and inequality. And the client missions? Those are important, too. We help Silicon Valley startups like [Gabb](https://gabbwireless.com) create safer and less distracting technology for kids. We help [Bevy](https://bevy.com) create community with their online platform. And we help [Compose](https://compose.im) build a less distracting online world, with more focus and flow. And many more.

Our squad members come from diverse backgrounds, many previously at companies like Spotify, Google, Amazon, Netflix, and more. We work together as a Squad of 5-6 people, in North American time zones only.

As a Product Designer, you will collaborate closely with cross functional teams - product managers, developers, QA Engineers and the like - to tackle complex workflows, involving a wide array of users and various touchpoints. You will tap into your design acumen to find innovative ways to help our clients streamline their work, unlock their creative capabilities and meet/exceed user expectations. Squadformers are seeking a thoughtful, data-savvy, and product-focused designer to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to drive the visual and interaction identity for our clients, as well as design and launch a wide range of product experiences from concept to implementation.

    What You Will do:

    ·       Collaborate with cross functional teams to lead and develop product and design strategies as well as gain deep understanding of the users and their needs.

    ·       Advocate for the user and drive a holistic UX vision that inspires pushing beyond the status quo.

    ·       Work directly with cross-functional teams from concept through delivery.

    ·       Create simple, intuitive product experiences for complex data insights and workflows.

    ·       Conduct qualitative and quantitative user research to identify long-term product direction and near-term feature improvements.

    ·       Visually articulate product direction while producing low and high-fidelity design, mockups, prototypes, wireframes, visuals and user flows that guide cross functional team (developers, product managers, QA, etc.) throughout the development lifecycle.

    ·       Continuously advocate for a simple, intuitive, and delightful user experience.

    What you Bring:

    ·       4+ years of Product Design work experience.

    ·       Strong interaction and visual design skills with a passion for creating solutions for real-world design challenges.

    ·       Deep understanding of complex workflows designed to scale across diverse, global teams.

    ·       Experience with design thinking practices

    ·       Ability to manage detailed projects with tight timelines

    ·       Proven successful product launches that drove meaningful impact to the business

    ·       Ability to rapidly ideate and produce multiple UX/UI concepts

    ·       Experience working directly with stakeholders to drive consensus and value add.

    ·       Ability to clearly articulate concepts as well as evangelize their benefits.

    ·       Experience working in continuous delivery environments while being able to deliver quality work in a fast-paced, fun environment.

    ·       A passion for your work and designing products that meet or exceed expectations.

Intrigued and feel like this is your perfect role? • Hunter logo

    Product Designer

    Hunter
    Europe Only

Hunter’s product team is hiring a designer! You’ll take the lead on the user interface of Hunter’s entire web application.

This is the first time we hire for this role, so this is a rare and exciting opportunity to join the team. You’ll be part of the product team alongside Bastien (head of engineering), Gabriel (Ruby on Rails developer), and François (co-founder).

    About the role

Product design is typically split into many different roles: UX, UI, front-end development, and so on. At Hunter, it’s one role. We think the best designs often come from people who can see all through from the ideas to the finished product.

As a Product Designer you will:

    • Lead the product design in Hunter’s web application. You’ll be the person the product team consults to make decisions about the user interface and validates the user-facing changes. You’ll help write the specifications of new features.
    • Collaborate on the developments that have a significant impact on the user interface, and validate other design or copywriting changes initiated by someone else in the product team (pull requests reviews). Bonus point if you’ve already worked on a Rails application.
    • Take the lead on the development of Chrome and Firefox browser extensions, as well as the Google Sheets add-on.
    • Be in close touch with the customer success team to discuss user experience issues and propose design changes when relevant.
    • Create and keep updated a design system to provide a consistent experience to the users.

Hunter is a fully remote team, and this is a remote job. It is open to anyone located in Europe.

Here are some of the tasks you will work on right away:

    • Work with Gabriel on the design of new features in Hunter Campaigns.
    • Create a new landing page to promote our browser extension to Microsoft Edge users.
    • Improve the website’s accessibility with a keyboard.
    • Create a search bar in Hunter’s Blog.

    About you

    • You have strong design sensibilities. You can build the layout of entirely new features and identify improvements on the existing ones.
    • You can write HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. You can bring your expertise in front-end development to improve our current codebase.
    • You’re excited to take ownership of projects, set directions and make calls. You’re able to communicate clearly with your colleagues.
    • You understand that copywriting is design too. You care how things are phrased as much as you care how they look.
    • You have experience in remote working. You’re comfortable working mostly with asynchronous communication and don’t need a lot of handholding or supervision.

    About us

Hunter is used by salespeople, marketers, and recruiters to reach out to the people that matter for their business. We index B2B data from millions of public web pages and make it convenient to explore with simple but powerful tools.

Hunter is the most popular solution to find professional email addresses. It is used by almost 3 million people and leading companies such as Google, Adobe, Microsoft, or IBM.

Hunter was founded in 2015 and is a self-funded company. We’re a team of 11 people working remotely from Europe, America, and Asia. Twice a year, the team meets in a company retreat in Europe.

First and foremost, you are self-motivated and self-directed. You will have the opportunity to take real ownership of your work and see it through from start to finish, understanding that you are responsible for tackling and clearing any obstacles in the way, with the help of the entire team of course. At Authory, true ownership means that you own the losses just as much as the wins, and both will naturally occur.

    Beyond these fundamental qualities:

    • You are a generalist with extensive experience both in UI and UX, and have a deep understanding of usability concepts.
    • You are focussed on the "Why".  You don't just design to make things look pretty, but have a thoughtful approach behind every decision.
    • You have 5+ years of experience in web-based application design, including time spent on beautiful and elegant SaaS products, desktop and mobile.
    • You have a strong portfolio showing your strengths and your design process.
    • You know your way around tools like Figma or Sketch for everything from creating lo-fi sketches and clickable prototypes to high-fi designs.
    • You have worked with Design Systems and know how to maintain one.
    • You have a good feeling for how branding strategy extends to UI.
    • You are in a European or American timezone.

    4. Benefits

    • Truly meaningful work: We are not building a generic product for corporate use. Our customers, mainly journalists, are an important part of our society who are in with their hearts, and it shows in the relationships we have.
    • Time to design: As we are a small team, we have fewer meetings/overhead and instead focus on giving you the time and space to build an A+ product.
    • Real appreciation: An outstanding UX is not only a means to an end for us, but has become a major reason of why customers choose Authory in the first place. Hence, we as a company value product design very highly.
    • Remote work (you can work from anywhere in an American or European time zone since we are fully remote)
    • Flexible work hours
    • 25 days vacation per year
    • Generous compensation
    • Option to become leader of future UX team
    • Choose between working full-time or 4 days a week at 80% compensation

In a world of beeps and clicks, Smile reminds us there is a human on the other side of every screen. We are a globally distributed 50+ person company with employees in Canada, the USA, South America, EMEA, and APAC. Our team has a strong emphasis on cross-cultural and timezone collaboration. We've been recognized as a "Best Place to Work" in Canada and look forward to expanding this on a global scale.

Our team is building the loyalty layer of the internet and currently already powers over 80,000 rewards programs, reaching more than 500 million shoppers. Above everything else we strive to make people happy —from the merchant to their consumer, to our own team (yes, our name really is fitting).

    Who We Are:

Human. The reason we do anything is to help another human succeed—whether they be on our team, one of our merchants or one of our merchants' shoppers. We approach our work with open hearts and complete authenticity, always remembering how our actions impact the human on the other side of the screen.

Humble. We value our differences and leave egos at the door to find the solution that creates the most competitive advantage for our merchants, regardless of their source. We celebrate everyone’s wins as if they were our own and go out of our way to give others recognition.

Hungry. Our drive to help others keeps us committed to infinite learning and taking initiative when no one is watching. As a team, we welcome ambiguity as it is an opportunity to leave our mark and understand autonomy and accountability go hand in hand.

    About the Team:

As a Senior Product Designer at Smile, you will get the opportunity to inform the design of products that are used by tens of thousands of businesses and millions of customers around the world. You will work on a multi-disciplinary squad and own the design for that area of the business. You will work closely with product managers, engineers, and a user researcher that understand the importance of, and value, the work you will be doing.

    About the Role:

We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer with a passion for designing complex products from start to finish and has the skill set to drive a collaborative experience with our Product and Engineering teams. We’ve got some incredible challenges for you to solve from concept to launch that will build the future of the loyalty layer of the internet. We’re looking for a results-driven designer to help us power our rewards program to over 500 million shoppers.

    What you'll help us achieve

    • You will elevate the quality of the visual design of Smile products.
    • You will help find simpler, more intuitive solutions to existing UX problems.
    • You will help us take advantage of new opportunities with a willingness to experiment, move fast, and learn from mistakes.

    Who you are:

    • You have worked as a product designer for at least two years, ideally more.
    • You are happy designing complex products from start to finish. You have experience in the various stages of product design, such as research; wireframing; user testing; high-fidelity mockups, and interaction design.
    • You like to take initiative, this is a senior role and we expect the ideal candidate to be proactive in areas adjacent to the actual design work, such as gathering data, sharing designs for feedback, and helping improve the work of others.
    • You are highly proficient at using Figma or motivated to become so.
    • You are excited about working in a fully remote, distributed environment with team members from diverse backgrounds and time zones.
    • You have good verbal and written communication skills, because we are a distributed team you will need to be comfortable with async forms of communication, such as written reports and Loom videos. The more we develop these skills the better we are at respecting each other's work hours.
    • You will be willing to travel once or twice a year to meet up with your colleagues once it is safe to do so.

    Bonus if you have

    • Ecommerce experience.
    • Some sort of complementary design skills such as illustration, animation etc.
    • Experience with modern user analytics tools such as VWO, Heap, Fullstory etc.
    • Experience with design systems.
    • An interest in improving the design process and knowledge of different frameworks (Lean UX, Dual-Track Agile, Design Thinking etc.).

What to expect in the interview process:

    • Initial screening.
    • Talk on camera about a recent project you worked on.
    • Video Interviews with a few folks from our Design and Product Team.
    • Collaborative project. Work together with us on a real feature, you will be compensated for your time.

    Our commitment to candidates:

At Smile, we understand that finding a new role is challenging and that self-doubt or imposter syndrome can prevent you from applying to a role, don’t let it! You have a ton to offer and we want you to feel encouraged to apply, even if you don’t check all of the boxes.
