    Twilio is growing rapidly and seeking a hardworking Engineering Manager to join the Twilio Studio backend engineering team that designs and deploys scalable customer communications. You would manage and grow this powerful engineering team to help Studio services/APIS at scale with best software engineering practices. You are probably a good fit if you enable and empower your engineering team, be deeply passionate about developing engineers, comfortable with ambiguity, and enjoy building relationships with your counterparts.

    Twilio is looking for a leader who lives the Twilio Magic and has a demonstrated track record of leading engineering teams. They also will:

    • Experience in mentoring, coaching, and developing software engineers
    • Enthusiasm for software engineering with a focus on front-end engineering
    • Experience with cloud-based native development preferably AWS
    • Experience in managing teams preferably with React, Redux, Express.js, and familiarity with Java, RESTful APIs, CI/CD, and Microservices
    • A history of working with highly scalable distributed systems with a focus on operational excellence
    • Ability to intelligently prioritize a technical roadmap with a focus on delivering incremental customer value
    • Experience in agile processes and best practices
    • Strong communication skills: in person, on paper, or in code. You can explain technical concepts to product managers, other engineers, and support members.
    • Be a strategic thinker and thrive when operating in broad scope, from conception through the continuous operation of 24×7 services
    • Distill complex and ambiguous situations into actionable plans for your team
    • 5+ years relevant technical work experience, or a degree supplemented with relevant experience in the field.

    We're looking for a hands-on full-stack engineering manager to lead a talented team of engineers in delivering delightful software for SchooLinks customers.

    • Lead a small team of 3-5 software engineers to build out features as they come down our product roadmap
    • Ensure the timely delivery of projects and remove blockers as they arise

    • Triage, prioritize and manage the resolution of production issues and customer escalations as needed, to ensure optimal resolution

    Requirements

    • At least 5 years of IC engineering experience
    • At least 2 years of management experience leading successful software engineering teams

    • Solid fundamentals in relational databases such as MySQL
    • Experience solving challenging technical problems
